The wisdom and compassion a woman can intuitively experience in childbirth can make her a source of healing and understanding for other women.

Get to know me!

Hi, I’m Michelle. Here’s a bit about me

I guess you could say I’ve got a bit of an unfair advantage when it comes to this work. I became a mum young and have birthed five babies over 20 years – four vaginally and one via caesarean – across both midwifery group care and private obstetric care. Now, at 53, I’m also a grandma to four, which has given me this beautiful, front-row seat to how parenting styles have evolved over time.

I haven’t just experienced birth and postpartum myself – I’ve also supported my own daughters as they’ve become mothers. That’s given me a really unique, multi-generational perspective and a deep understanding of how different things feel for women now compared to “back then.”

Over the years, I’ve seen the shifts in maternity care and the gaps that have formed when it comes to consistent, nurturing support. It’s a big part of why I feel so strongly about the work I do – because women need to feel held, informed, and supported now more than ever.

As a doula, I bring a calm, grounded “mum energy” into the space, alongside my training and experience. I’m there to protect the environment, hold space, and make sure women feel safe, seen, and supported – not just in birth, but especially as they transition into postpartum.

I did excel in my role as the Office Manager for our large family business because I am (slightly obsessively) organised and committed to anything I say “YES” to. This skill benefits the families I work with as I have them truly prepared – like no stone has been left unturned- heading into birth and those early weeks. And in postpartum, as many know, there are some things that simply need to be lived – so here I gently guide parents through that minefield of conflicting information, normalising the ups and downs and helping new parents build the confidence to trust and lean into their natural instincts and intuition… not Google!

Now, I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families in Perth WA.

My support lies in providing a continuity of care equipping you with the essential tools to navigate with ease your pregnancy, childbirth, and your postpartum journey. With my experience in raising 5 children, I have the tools to reduce any fears you may have by providing you and your partner with emotional and physical support, along with evidence-based information.

No matter what birthing plan you choose, I’m dedicated to ensuring it is a positive, non-judgemental, and empowering experience. My array of services includes personalised prenatal visits, expert birth planning and preparation, continuous assistance during labour and birth, nurturing postpartum care, and empowering breastfeeding and sleep support. I am confident in providing comfort with such things as acupressure, massage, hypnobirthing and rebozo techniques. I also have a background in fitness so I can assist with nutrition, movement, and exercise in the prenatal and postnatal period.

Let’s embark on this journey together, tap into your internal authority, with confidence, love, and joy so your transition into parenthood is filled with empowerment. I invite you to embrace the beauty of this new chapter with my doula services.
